Strategy becomes Concept

Not everyone is a DIY expert, so German hardware chain Max Bahr decided to establish a new ‘shop-in-shop’ concept for windows and doors, offering customers personal service and simple guidance on home renewal projects.

New Store Europe created a strategy to turn this concept into reality, and then put the store interior together for the customer.

Two prototype shops have been completed within existing Max Bahr stores, in Hamburg and Lübeck.

The project presented several challenges. Klaus-Peter Ulrich, Max Bahr’s Assortment Manager for Windows and Doors, explains: “We had no existing examples to refer to, and had to discover, from scratch, how to make room for everything within a limited space, while still keeping the shops as spacious and inviting as possible.
New Store Europe constructed a shop in one of their halls, which allowed us to make the necessary adjustments before the actual installation in the store. Even though the timeline was very short, New Store Europe did their part of the job absolutely brilliantly. In the end, we opened in time, and it was perfect!”
